In response to Sydney's complex environmental, social and cultural conditions as a 21st century city, paired with fast evolving needs in a globalised world, there is a call for spaces that suppot this. The recent global pandemic has caused an overflow of mental health issues on a national scale and a sense of disconnection locally.

We've forgotten who we are, where we come from and how to connect.

Reshore enables creativity, culture and community to be activated by providing a precinct that preserves our past customs and traditions, adapts to our dynamic lifestyle to overcome the detachment of our post-covid world and paves the way for a sustainably healthy future.

With history as the driver, reshore creates connections between communities, people and place, allowing for wellbeing and healing to be developed.

What are the 21st century issues we are facing?

Pandemics

On a global scale, the recent pandemic has caused chaos and disorder to our regular way of life. In our post-covid world, research has shown we appreciate spending more time outdoors and are more conscious of our health and wellbeing. We have an opportunity now to create spaces that adapt to a new way of life.

Mental Health

On a national scale, Australia's mental health crisis has worsened. Between 2020-2021, 3.1 million Australians sought help from a health care professional for their mental health. How can we design spaces that improve our health and wellbeing?

Disconnection

On a local scale, there is a lack of public infrasturcture that allows for community engagement, particularly around the Bays West. Alongside this, is a lack of connection to land and understanding of First Nations people. We have an opportunity to develop spaces that foster connection and site specific culture.
